Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

 

Carolina Filters, Inc. a Sumter, SC  based polymer/fiber equipment cleaning and indoor air quality specialist organization is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of IAQ Industrial maintenance Supervisor.

Job Function:

To supervise the remediation of buildings and/or their ventilation systems from contamination including, but not limited to particulate build-up, and greases and oils.  Also to supervise industrial cleaning of facility components such as joists, walls, and ceilings and equipment such as boilers, pumps and heat exchangers.  To supervise painting and other miscellaneous tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage/train personnel and direct on-site operations as they relate to service, safety, and duct cleaning & IAQ related work/issues.
  • To fully understand the purpose and importance for maintaining clean and functional air handling systems. The lead technician must only understand it, but also be able to relay it to the customers and service crew in a way that makes them appreciate it.
  • Coordinate meetings with customers to assess their duct systems and maintenance needs. Provide initial plant walk through to assist in quoting and scheduling cleaning jobs.
  • Prepare and follow work schedules.
  • Coordinate safety and work permits, lock/tag out, and protocol unique to a certain plant. Keep the technicians free to do their work.
  • Maintain contact with technicians, customers, and management during jobs.
  • Assist IAQ Field Supervisor in the final walk through, first with the technicians and then with the customer.
  • Ensure timely submission of delivery tickets once task is completed.
  • Prepare job reports for customers as requested.
  • Maintain lock-up area to ensure adequate cleaning supplies.
  • Properly maintain company vehicles, company tools, and other materials/goods issued.
  •  Attend and conduct regular safety training.
  • Perform additional duties as required to assist sales, service, maintenance, and administrative divisions. Help each other.
  • Coil cleaning, overhead cleaning, duct cleaning, process line cleaning, HVAC unit cleaning and any other industrial cleaning within reason.

  • Hours of work: varies depending on job - to include: days, nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead, direct and communicate (verbally and written) with IAQ Field Supervisor, fellow employees and customer(s).
  • Ability to create efficiencies in various scopes of work, perform multiple job functions, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks paying strict attention to detail.
  • Leader in safety. (OSHA construction and general industry regs.: Confined Spaces, LOTO, Electrical, Hazcom, PPE, Means of Egress, Fire Safety...)
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to serve the customer.
  • Must submit a 3 year DMV report prior to beginning work.
  • Lifting requirements ~ Up to approx. 50 lbs.
