Maintenance Fabricator

 

Carolina Filters, Inc. a Sumter, SC  based polymer/fiber equipment cleaning and indoor air quality specialist organization is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Maintenance Fabricator.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for laying out sheet metal fabrication jobs, as well as shear and brake sheet metal. Performs fabrication and welding using MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques. Inspects, repairs, documents and performs preventative maintenance of facilities, equipment and grounds. Instructs plant personnel on proper use of repaired equipment to prevent further damage. Performs daily and emergency maintenance tasks safely and with little or no supervision. Follows standard operation procedures and safety procedures (i.e. confined spaces and loto). Communicates status of maintenance with area personnel and management as needed. Performs electrical repair and trouble shooting on all plant equipment, lock, tag, and try procedures for all jobs throughout the plant. Ensure all daily data is keyed in maintenance daily software system. Key all labor and repair parts in systems daily.
        

Skills/Experience

Must be knowledgeable and experienced in welding (MIG, TIG and ARC), 3 phase (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic hoists, electric motors, electrical current up to 480 volts, pipe fitting basic knowledge of electronic controls; troubleshooting. Welding (MIG, TIG and ARC) preventative maintenance, computer literacy and working knowledge of maintenance PM software system.

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to work with little or no supervision and in confined spaces (must be medically certified to wear full face respirator). Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and employees. Able to prepare and maintain various reports and documents for jobs or assignment.
Lifting, pulling, or pushing requirements - up to approximately 120 lbs.

Environment

Industrial and Plant Environment; HOT in the summer, COLD in the winter. May be exposed to weather elements (rain, wind, snow...).
Hours of work: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
