Maintenance Technician

Carolina Filters, Inc. a Sumter, SC  based polymer/fiber equipment cleaning and indoor air quality specialist organization is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of PEC Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities:

Performs electrical repair, controls emergency electrical components for all major equipment at PEC. Inspects, repairs and performs preventative maintenance of facilities, equipment and grounds. Performs daily and emergency tasks safely with little or no supervision and in confined spaces, while following standard operating procedures and safety procedures (i.e. confined spaces and loto). Instructs plant personnel on proper use of repaired equipment to prevent further damage and monitors and reports inventory of maintenance tools and equipment. Performs fabrication and welding using MIG and ARC welding techniques, perform lock, tag and monitors procedures for all jobs throughout the plant.

Environments

Industrial, Plant Environment, HOT in summer, COLD in winter, may be exposed to weather elements (rain, wind, snow...)   

Minimum Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, computer knowledge and thorough knowledge of electrical systems: 3 phase (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic hoists); electric motors; electrical current up to 480 volts. Also knowledge of pipe fitting, controls, troubleshooting, welding (MIG and ARC) and preventative maintenance. Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs. Must be able to prepare and maintain various reports and documents for jobs or assignment and to handle multiple tasks, while meeting strict deadlines.

This is a 2^nd shift position and the work hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
