Polymer Filters
Cleaning services for polymer filters is a specialized job that should be left to professionals. Here at Carolina Filters, Inc. we take it upon ourselves to perform this process for you. When cleaning your polymer filters we have three main goals of our cleaning process.
First, we work with you to understand the chemistry of the contaminant being removed from the polymer filters. This way we know what temperatures and solutions to use on the filters without damaging the filter media. We will take a look at the construction of the polymer filters so we know what restraints may be encountered when cleaning the filter media.
Next, we develop a process that will remove the contaminant from the polymer filters without damaging the filter itself. This could be a physical process such as using ultrasonics, flushing, or brushing or it could be a chemical process such as using solvents, acids, or caustics. Carolina Filters, Inc. also has a new process, DEECOM, which is where steam is used to remove the contaminant from your polymer filters. The contaminant can then be reclaimed or recycled. This process will help reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating the use of solvents and chemicals.
Then, we will control the process conditions during the cleaning of your polymer filters. This is done by tracking every step through the standard operating procedures that are developed for each specific part. All parts are tagged and documented throughout the process so they can be located at any given time.
After the cleaning process we validate and evaluate the polymer filters in our testing and inspecting process. The filters are inspected to validate the integrity of the filter is not damaged so that it can be put back into service. Lastly, testing in performed on the polymer filters to ensure cleanliness in a non-destructive way.
